The Berlin Girl by Author Mandy Robotham #Book review #International Best Seller@ Reviewed 4.5 stars

I enjoyed reading this book. Well researched and written brilliantly. The story takes place in Berlin 1938 at the Hitlers time. Georgie a Young Journalist/Reporter from London who works at the London news - the Chronicle newspaper travels to Berlin for work along with her colleague Max Spender. Georgie was the one to report on Germany's Political tableaux. Georgie truly loved the Chronicle. It was a people's paper, filled with mix of news, features and stories along with adverts.

Georgie was in berlin thinking to herself that she has plenty to learn and prove, also make a name for her with clutch of stories. Berlin in front of Georgie's eyes was astonishing, impressive, distinct, neat and imposing. When Miss Georgie Young found the city of berlin engaging, pristine and enticing ironically she and max witnessed the poor unfortunate in the street on her first days in the city. Georgie saw the sheared and degraded red-haired girl in the town square, persecuted only for loving one another. All contributed to the Nazi's red skin.

Georgie and Max were shocked by the shame of violence they witnessed in Berlin. Horrified by the - Nazi - backed - militia - openly vandalizing, destroying and enjoying the power of their violence, without fear of punishment.

As the light rose on the berlin of 10th November 1938, of the Nazi hatred against Jews became clear.

Will the War Come Soon?.....I like the surprise ending to this book!

MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW After Pearl is a captivating historical mystery set in 1942, during the turbulent months following the attack on Pearl Harbor. The novel follows Nicholas Bishop, an alcoholic private investigator and shell-shocked WWI veteran, who wakes up in a seedy hotel room with a hangover, a foggy memory, and two bullets missing from his revolver. Worse still, lounge singer Pearl DuGaye is dead, and Bishop is the prime suspect. As he stumbles through a haze of forgotten days, Bishop—assisted by the sharp and capable Gia Alessi, a loyal sidekick who may or may not still be on his payroll—dives into a web of deceit and danger. His investigation leads him through Buffalo’s underworld, rubbing shoulders with crooked politicians, high-society elites, and an underground group of American Nazis. All the while, he’s haunted by flashbacks from the Great War and shadowed by a one-eyed dog named Jake. The pacing is tight and energetic. The mystery unfolds gradually but never drag...
