MY THOUGHTS AND BOOK REVIEW

I Loved the creative writing of Jingles by D.F. Jones which is a heartwarming Christmas romance set in the charming town of HollyHaven, where the magic of the holiday season runs deep. At the heart of the town is Jingles, the beloved Christmas shop that holds the essence of the holiday spirit. However, this year, the magic is fading, and with it, the very soul of Christmas. Nick, the reluctant heir to the Claus legacy, finds himself in a race against time to restore the fading magic before Christmas is lost forever.

In his search for a solution, Nick stumbles into The Cinnamon Stick, a cozy café run by Clara, a talented baker who has buried her own belief in magic and love after past betrayals. Clara has poured herself into her bakery, creating warmth and comfort for others, but she’s closed herself off from the magic of the season—and from her own heart.

As Nick and Clara’s paths intertwine, a series of strange and enchanting events begin to unfold. Nick sees the key to restoring Christmas in Clara and, more than that, feels a deep connection to her that he can’t ignore. As their attraction grows, Clara is forced to confront her own fears and doubts about love, magic, and her ability to believe in both.

With Christmas Eve rapidly approaching, Nick must convince Clara to embrace the magic between them before it disappears forever—and with it, the very spirit of Christmas. Jingles is a delightful and magical romance that captures the true meaning of the holiday season, reminding readers that the greatest magic of all is believing.

Thanks to DF Jones Publisher for an advance copy for my honest review.

Book description

Jingles: A Sweet Christmas Romance Short Story

Jingles by USA Today bestselling author D.F. Jones

In the quaint town of Holly Haven, Christmas magic runs deeper than anyone knows. Jingles, the beloved Christmas shop, is the heart of that magic, but this year, it’s fading—and with it, the very essence of the holiday season. Nick, the charming but reluctant heir to the Claus legacy, faces a race against time to restore the magic before Christmas is lost forever. But everything changes when Nick stumbles into The Cinnamon Stick, the cozy café run by Clara—a talented baker with a guarded heart.

Still recovering from past betrayals, Clara buried herself in her bakery, creating warmth and comfort for others but leaving little room for herself to believe in magic—or love.

As Nick and Clara’s worlds collide, strange and enchanting events begin to unfold. Nick sees the key to restoring Christmas in Clara, but more than that, he feels a connection he can’t ignore. As the sparks between them grow, Clara is forced to confront the things she’s been avoiding: belief in magic, love, and herself.

With Christmas Eve fast approaching, Nick must convince Clara to trust in the magic they share before the magic fades forever—and with it, the spirit of Christmas itself.

Jingles is a heartwarming, magical romance filled with love, laughter, and the wonder of the holiday season. It reminds us all that the greatest magic of all is believing.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ever wonder what it's like to step into a world where angels, demons, witches, wizards, and time travel collide? That’s the magic D.F. Jones weaves into every story she tells—worlds where the supernatural and romance meet, pulling you in until reality and fantasy blur in the best way possible.

Before she became the USA Today bestselling author, D.F. Jones had a pretty different gig. She worked as a broadcast consultant at an ABC Affiliate in Nashville. But then, in 2015, she decided to downsize her ad agency to take care of her family and focus on something constantly tugging at her heart—writing fiction.

Writing, for her, is more than just putting words on a page. It's her escape, a place where the stress of everyday life melts away, and anything is possible. And she wants to share that world with you. The stories she crafts aren’t just filled with magic—they're packed with action, love, and characters you’ll be thinking about long after you turn the last page.

At home, D.F. Jones shares a love story of her own. She’s married to her best friend, a man who keeps her laughing every day. Together, they raised two incredible sons, who are the true lights of her life and the spark behind the heart and soul in her books.

When she's not writing, you’ll probably find her in her flower garden. She loves the feeling of her hands in the soil, coaxing life from the earth just like she does with her characters on the page.

So, if you're ready to escape into a world where love and the otherworldly go hand-in-hand, D.F. Jones is the perfect guide. Her books promise adventure, a bit of whimsy, and heart-pounding moments that'll keep you hooked. Welcome to her world, where the impossible is just the beginning.

MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW After Pearl is a captivating historical mystery set in 1942, during the turbulent months following the attack on Pearl Harbor. The novel follows Nicholas Bishop, an alcoholic private investigator and shell-shocked WWI veteran, who wakes up in a seedy hotel room with a hangover, a foggy memory, and two bullets missing from his revolver. Worse still, lounge singer Pearl DuGaye is dead, and Bishop is the prime suspect. As he stumbles through a haze of forgotten days, Bishop—assisted by the sharp and capable Gia Alessi, a loyal sidekick who may or may not still be on his payroll—dives into a web of deceit and danger. His investigation leads him through Buffalo’s underworld, rubbing shoulders with crooked politicians, high-society elites, and an underground group of American Nazis. All the while, he’s haunted by flashbacks from the Great War and shadowed by a one-eyed dog named Jake. The pacing is tight and energetic. The mystery unfolds gradually but never drag...
