MY THOUGHTS AND BOOK REVIEW

Loved the book cover. Dead Pretty was set in 1977 - Beginning their nursing education at Harlow Wood Orthopaedic Hospital are six student nurses, Kym, Louise, Zoe, and Vanya, and two males Guy and Simon, they meet the matron Mrs McGee who has set rules and regulations that are strict for their nursing dorms they stay. They are enthusiastic, and youthful, and quickly forge close friendships with other members of their cohort. However, there's a predator in the group. A man who enjoys nothing more than murdering young, attractive girls.

He's already completed it. To determine who will come next, he observes their motions. Then, for the pleasure, he kills. One pupil vanishes, and then another one does too. Leads, evidence, and bodies are all missing. He is witty. Is he really as smart as he believes he is? I haven't read a Joy Wood novel before this one. The author has a unique story and a well-paced thriller mystery brimming with suspense and tension as well. The criminal character Joy Wood had built, I felt very sick and gross with him at the same time. This novel is not for weak-hearted readers and has a chilling climax that will linger in your mind.

AUTHOR BIO

Joy Wood has worked as a nurse most of her adult life and turned to writing six years ago to ‘see if she could.’ Her earlier work was adult romance and intrigue, but more recently she has switched genres to romance with a crime element. Joy lives in the small but charming seaside town of Cleethorpes in North East Lincolnshire and her writing ideas come from watching the tide turn daily, of course with the obligatory ice-cream – someone has to support the local economy!
