AUTHOR INTERVIEW

1. Diann, your novels are known for their action-packed, suspense-filled plots that thrill

readers. What initially drew you to writing in the thriller and suspense genres?

Ans. Suspense and thriller stories are my favorite genre to read. I believe we live in a dangerous and unpredictable world. I want to entertain, inspire, and encourage readers through a story that shows courageous men and women who are trained and passionate about keeping the innocent safe. It’s also important to me to show at least one character who solves problems and lives their life from a Christian worldview. 😊 Who do you want behind a Glock?

2. Your books have achieved remarkable success, including appearances on bestseller

lists and winning prestigious awards such as the Christy Awards. How has this

recognition shaped your writing career, and what does it mean to you personally?

Ans. Honestly, I read outstanding books and not sure how mine have won awards. The recognition is an honor and a privilege. I’m very competitive, and those awards have pushed me to work daily on my craft and strive to be a better writer. In my personal life, I’m just Diann – a little wacky, eccentric, bizarre, and sometimes dramatic.

3. As a founding board member of the American Christian Fiction Writers and a member of various other writing associations, how has your involvement in these organizations

influenced your writing process and career?

Ans. One of my goals as a writer is to help serious writers with anything I might have learned along the way. Being a member of writing associations allows me to speak, teach, and encourage other writers to put forth their best efforts in writing, marketing, promotion, and in turn helping other writers.

4. You’re known for roasting your own coffee beans and have been affectionately termed a coffee snob. How does this hobby contribute to your creative process, and do you have a favorite coffee bean or blend?

Ans. My love of coffee and roasting my own beans allows me to be creative. It also allows me to create characters who enjoy coffee, and it doesn’t matter if their preference is the same or different from mine.

My favorite blend is a dark roast Costa Rican bean.

5. Beyond writing, you’re an avid reader and enjoy cooking. How do these passions influence your storytelling, and do you find inspiration in culinary arts or literary works?

Ans. Reading is designed to entertain the reader, and I love that! But reading also challenges me to work harder at my craft. When I’m reading either a print book or e-book, I note passages that thrill me, challenge, and learn from them.

Cooking is a creative outlet that explores my imagination. I look for ways to change out at least three ingredients to make the recipe mine. Sometimes those changes are good and sometimes they need “editing,” but I love the process. While I’m cooking or baking, I think about my current story and what I might want to do differently or add to the existing plot—and hope the recipe works for the reader.

6. Looking ahead, can you share any insights into your upcoming projects or series? Are there new themes or characters you’re excited to explore?

Ans. Canyon of Deceit is a September 2025 romantic suspense release from Tyndale Publishing. A survival expert and a Texas Ranger trek into an off-the-grid area to free a seven-year-old little girl who’s held hostage to silence her Russian father from revealing terrorist information.

I’m always exploring new ways to thrill readers with a suspenseful story that weaves a thread of romance.

I love to hear from readers! They can contact me through my website at all my social media platforms.

MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW In this historical novel, Jacob Mueller was a first-generation American born in New Berlin to parents full of German Descent. His parents embraced their German heritage even after they moved to America. They found a better life in the United States of America. Jacob's father's family name was - Mattias Wendel Mueller in 1898. Jacob was born to Elisabet and Hyrum when New Berlin changed its name to North Canton after the First World War, during the time when Anti-German Sentiment was high. Later, Jacob changed his name to Jacob Miller when Hitler and the Nazi party began their cruel reign, he wanted to hide his heritage. He wanted no one to know his views about Nazis, Nazi Harboring or assuming he associated with Nazi sympathizers. There was more to living in the united states while Jacob's mother thought that was all it was needed to prove her allegiance. Whereas, Jacob understood that the American government could arrest or deport those not born in t

MY THOUGHTS AND BOOK REVIEW R.G. Belsky's "Broadcast Blues" thrusts readers into the relentless world of TV newswoman Clare Carlson, where the line between journalism and justice becomes blurred in the pursuit of a high-profile crime. Set against the backdrop of New York City's bustling crime scene, Belsky weaves a riveting tale that combines investigative journalism with a thirst for truth and justice. The narrative kicks off with a bang – quite literally – when an explosive takes the life of Wendy Kyle, a former NYPD officer with a tumultuous past. Clare Carlson, with her finger firmly on the pulse of the city's crime, sees the potential for a major scoop in the tragedy. However, it becomes clear that for Clare, this is not just about the sensational story; it's a personal quest for justice for the victim. Wendy Kyle's controversial history adds layers of complexity to the case. From her dismissal from the NYPD following sexual harassment allegations a
